Learn to Play

Know a junior interested in the game of golf, or who has just started and wants to improve? The OAC Learn to Play junior golf lesson program is for them!

The Learn to Play program is a comprehensive set of golf lessons available to juniors between the ages of 7-11.

It’s a 4-week program led by PGA of Canada teaching professional Brett Claggett Woods whose intention is to introduce kids to the nuances of the game of golf and to become first tee ready!

Learn to Play is also a great way for the participants to meet other juniors who share a passion for this wonderful sport.

  1. Fundamentals – Posture, Grip, Alignment – As fundamentals set up everything that happens during the swing, they are the most important aspect in golf.
  2. Putting and Chipping – Learn to control direction and distance during short shots.
  3. Pitching – A key short game shot that also leads to great things happening in the full swing. Learn how to get the ball up and land softly and when to use this shot.
  4. Full-swing irons and Driver – Explore the key difference in hitting drives versus hitting shots off the turf.
