COVID-19: Re-Opening Protocols and Procedures

Enhanced Cleaning

We are all active participants of our housekeeping team. Team members are equipped with hospital-grade disinfectant spray bottles and towels for regular cleaning of all high-touch surfaces.

We have implemented comprehensive deep cleaning and disinfecting processes in the club each day, including use of electrostatic sprayers.

Cleaning Supplies Provided

You will find hand sanitizing and cleaning stations throughout the club that provide disinfecting products for members to apply before and after using the equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

It is mandatory by the City of Ottawa, that all members and staff are required to wear masks during their indoor visit (masks can be removed on the tennis courts).

Masks are available for purchase at the Welcome Desk.

Distancing To Keep Us Together

Our club is a community, and to keep that community safe we must practice physical distancing. Taking advantage of the expanse of our club, all members will have plenty of personal space.

Sneeze Guards are in place where necessary for our staff and member safety.

Seating has been removed from our social areas.

Parents/guardians are required to exit the building while child is enrolled in supervised lesson or program.

Safe Fever-Free Environment

We are taking the temperature of every person entering the club, ensuring we are all below the fever threshold. All staff will also be checked before their day or shift begins.

Studio Capacities
We are also limiting capacity in each studio space (Spin, Group Fitness, Yoga, Multi-Fit) to allow for adequate physical distancing.

Participants will be required to sign-up online through Mindbody to reserve a spot in all Group Fitness, Spin, and Yoga classes.

Club Signage

Signs positioned around the club will help reinforce all relevant information in regards to physical distancing, flow of movement, good hygiene, workout/play protocols. Please be on the lookout and abide by directions and cues.

Re-Opening of Amenities & Services

We follow Government regulations. As the restrictions are changed, the amenities will be re-opened accordingly.

Locker rooms, showers, saunas, steamrooms, and whirlpools will be closed during early stages of reopening.

We will communicate all-important club updates through email. If you are not currently on our email list, please use this link to subscribe. You can also follow us on our social media (Facebook, Instagram) to stay connected.

Notifications of Positive Cases

If we become aware that you have had any direct exposure to a person who has tested positive for COVID we will reach out and notify you directly. We will report cases and work with Ottawa Public Health for contact tracing purposes.

Our enhanced cleaning procedures and member etiquette guidelines greatly reduce the likelihood of general transmission within the club.

Our Commitment to You

Every OAC team member is a vital component in creating safe facilities for our colleagues, members and clients. We hold high expectations for our team, and they rise to the challenge.

Staff are expected to adhere to the following:

  • All OAC professionals and staff will have their temperatures taken before their shift. Anyone measuring a fever will immediately be asked to return home.
  • Everyone is in housekeeping. All employees regardless of position will be entrusted to provide clean and sanitized spaces. This will include wiping all counters and surfaces after use, cleaning equipment and studio spaces.
  • All staff will receive training on COVID-19 safety. Correct hygiene and frequent hand-washing are vital to helping combat the spread of COVID-19.
  • All staff will wear masks as deemed necessary and minimize physical contact during training sessions.

Member Etiquette

You have an important role in all of us staying safe. We are all part of a community that wants to stay healthy–and so we ask that you please keep in mind these etiquette guidelines while at the club.

  • Do not come to the club if you feel sick.
  • Be prepared to have your temperature taken when you arrive. In order to keep our club fever-free, we will restrict entry if your temperature is above 100.3.
  • It is required you wear a mask as per City of Ottawa regulation and practice physical distancing.
  • Please be respectful of physical distance guidelines while at the club, for yourself and others.
  • Please practice proper handwashing while at the club.
  • Please wipe down the equipment and spaces you use after you are done.
  • In the early stages of opening, we ask that you limit your time at the club to ninety (90) minutes per visit. This will help us control the reduced capacity of the club.
  • In light of capacity restrictions and our commitment to our member experience, we will temporarily not permit guests at the club.
