We work with every department within our facility to bring exciting new fitness programs to help improve balance, healthy living, strength, speed, agility and much more.

Women’s Self Defense Course

We heard your requests and we now offer Self Defense with more flexible sessions!

Beginning in October, join James Kouame for our Women’s Self Defense program! Choose from 1, 2 or 3 classes per week to get the best out of this program!

Join Sensei James Kouame (Karate Kyokushin Black Belt, 4-time World Kickboxing Champion, international professional MMA competitor) for an exciting an informative course designed to help women of all ages learn critical self-defense techniques and gain confidence along the way.

Teens over the age of 13, adults and seniors are all welcome – the course will include:

  • Stability, balance and basic defensive movements
  • Blocking and countering defensive techniques
  • Neutralization of threats
  • Simulations, street scenarios & partner work
  • Prevention techniques (awareness, attitudes, self-confidence)

Fall Session: October 9 – November 13

Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:00 pm / Thursdays 7:00 – 8:00 pm / Saturdays 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Muay Thai / Kickboxing

Improve your strength, power, cardio fitness, flexibility, balance and agility by training with 4-time World Kickboxing Champion and professional MMA competitor James Kouame!

Ages 13+

Monday 7:30 – 8:30 pm / Friday 5:00 – 6:00 pm / Saturday 9:00 – 10:00 am


Urban Poling Walking

Learn how to incorporate Urban Poling walking into your personal fitness plan. Experience how this activity can improve posture, increase upper body and core strength, provide an enhanced cardiovascular workout while reducing impact on lower back, hips, knees, ankles and feet, and at the same time be social and fun!

Susan Yungblut, physiotherapist and certified Urban Poling instructor has over 30 years professional physiotherapy experience. She currently practices at the Physio Sport Care Centre located within the OAC, and at LiquidGym.  Susan enjoys Nordic walking as a cross training fitness activity to complement her tennis, running and winter sport passions.

Now is the perfect time to learn! Prepare for spring outdoor walking by practicing Nordic walking on the OAC indoor track.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 – 10:00 am
